Emailing Photos with Preclick

  • How do I select photos for emailing?
There are several ways you can select photos for emailing. You can click on the Email Photo button when the photo is displayed in the View tab. Or, you can click on the envelope button under the photo thumbnail on the filmstrip.

  • How do I select multiple photos to email?
New versions of the Preclick Photo Organizer have an Add Recent button on the Email tab which will add the pictures in your latest roll to the tab. You can also add multiple photos to the Email tab by clicking the Envelope button under the first desired thumbnail and then while holding the Shift key, click the Envelope button under the last desired thumbnail. All the selected photos will be added to the Email tab.

  • Preclick doesn't work with my email program, why?
The Preclick email function works with most major email applications, and will launch your computer's default email program. Preclick supports Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, Lotus Notes, Eudora, AOL 7.0 or higher and Hotmail. Older versions of America Online and certain web-based email services are not supported at this time.
Note: Internet Explorer 5.0 is required when using web-based email such as Hotmail.

  • How do I check and set my computer's default email program?
Begin by accessing your computer's control panel. Depending on which operating system you have, you can get to the Control Panel by clicking on Start>Settings>Control Panel or by clicking My Computer and then Control Panel. Click on the Internet Options icon and then choose the Programs tab. Pick your email program from the drop down menu.

  • How do I set AOL as my default email program?
To use AOL as your default email program, you must have AOL version 7.0 or 8.0 installed on your computer. Sign on to AOL.

From the settings drop down menu (4th from the left) select Preferences. A preference dialog will appear, click the Association link (in the first column) and then click OK. AOL will now be set up as your default email program.

To set up AOL 9.0 as your default email program, on the AOL toolbar, click the SETTINGS button. Now click the A-Z tab, and then click AOL AS DEFAULT. Click OK. AOL 9.0 will now be set up as your default email program.

  • Why does Preclick shrink the size of my photos when I email them?
Preclick shrinks the size of your photos before emailing to a screen view (about 70k) so that uploading and downloading won't take too long or clog your recipients' email inboxes.

  • Preclick doesn't work with my email program, can I still reduce the size of my photos before sending them manually?
Yes, you can still reduce the size of your photos (using the Organize tab) before sending manually. To do so, add the photos to the Organize tab by clicking on the folder icon below the photo in the View tab or underneath the thumbnail in the filmstrip. Then go to the Organize tab and select Copy Photos. Select a location to copy them, select Shrink Photos and click Start Copying. This will reduce the photos to about 70k. Now you can manually launch your email program, create a new message, attach the photos and send.
