Tip #1
Have your Photos Professionally Printed

There are several ways you can select photos for printing. You can click on the Print button when the photo is displayed in the View SmartPhoto™ tab.

Or, you can click on the Printer button under the photo thumbnail on the filmstrip.

All selected photos are added to the Print tab where you can choose to either upload the photos to an online album to print yourself or you can order prints directly through the application by clicking on the Order Prints button.

The Print tab also has an Add Many button which gives you the option to add the entire filmstrip, your recent photos (latest roll), the current photo under the lens or an album to the tab.

You can also add multiple photos to the Print tab manually by clicking the Printer button under the first desired thumbnail in the filmstrip and then while holding the Shift key, click the Printer button under the last desired thumbnail. All the selected photos will be added to the Print tab.

Then, review your photos and upload. In a couple of days, your professionally printed digital photos will arrive in your mailbox.

Tip #2
Making the most of your Push Bar

The Push Bar, which runs beneath the Filmstrip and through the bottom of the Lens, shows you where you are in your collection. It is also a navigation tool that lets you jump instantly to a particular photo or group of photos. Just hover your mouse over the Push Bar and run it up and down its length — a tiny floating caption will tell you what photo or group you are above. Click to jump to it.

The Push Bar's behavior depends on how you have chosen to sort your filmstrip (the sort command is the last drop-down menu below the SmartPhoto Tags section, on the right side of the application).

Tip #3
Using SmartPhoto™ Tags in PhotoBackPack

SmartPhoto Tags enable you to annotate your photo with a caption, person, event, place, date and album. All the Tags you enter (except for the album name) are embedded into your digital photos, making them into SmartPhotos™. The photo will act and look exactly the same, but when you move, archive, or send it to a friend all of your Tags will be preserved for later viewing within Preclick PhotoBackPack or Preclick Photo Organizer, so you will never lose (or have to re-type) your annotations ever again.

You can label multiple photos with the same Tags if you add the desired photos to the Organize tab and then click Stamp Photos. Enter information and click Start Stamping. It's that simple.

In addition, Preclick's home printing feature lets you print the caption, date and file name along with your pictures, making SmartPhoto™ technology even more useful and powerful.

Tip #4
I've entered the pertinent information for all my photos in the SmartPhoto Tags section, now what?

The SmartPhoto Tags section to the right of each picture lets you enter a file name, caption, subject, events, place, rating, date and album. The "Find" text box lets you enter text to search. The "Show" menu lets you search for specific folders. The "Sort by" lets you group pictures by Date, Folder, File Name, Rating and Roll. You can use the Find, Sort by, and Rating drop down menus on the right side of the application to only show those photos in your collection you want to see. You can then go to the Share, Print or Organize tab, and click the Add Strip button to easily add all the photos in the current (sorted or searched) strip to that specified tab.

Tip #5
Using Preclick's Home Printing

Preclick PhotoBackPack Gold's home printing feature enables you to save both time and money when using expensive photo printing paper.

Tip #6
What can the Organize tab do for me?

You can actually move your photos from one folder to another or burn them to a CD using the Organize tab. Add all the photos you wish to organize to the tab and then select the Copy Photos or Burn CD button. A dialog will pop up which will allow you to select a location to copy the photos, create a new folder if necessary and even delete the originals if you are moving the photos to a new location.

The Copy Photos function enables you to copy and organize files between hard drives, network drives, floppy disks, Zip disks and USB drives. If you are copying to a removable device like a USB drive or a Zip drive, you can even copy photos and the Preclick application and then give it to your friends and they will have the viewer on their computer.

If you are burning the photos to a CD, you will have the option to title the CD and shrink the photos as well. There is also a meter displaying the amount of space needed on the blank CD for these photos as well as the amount of free space available on the CD.

You can label multiple photos with the same SmartPhoto Tags if you add the desired photos to the Organize tab and then click Stamp Photos. Enter information and click Start Stamping. It's that simple.
